Water quality
The Stadstriathlon Weert Foundation tests the water quality for each edition of the Stadstriathlon Weert. On June 5, 2025, the water quality was tested at three locations (turning point, middle of the swimming course, and the marina). At the time of testing, no deviations from the established standards were observed at these locations. The report and accompanying letter can be downloaded here:
Advise to participants
We would like to inform participants of the Stadstriathlon Weert about the following matters regarding the swimming water:
- The water used is not official swimming water; entering the water is at your own risk.
- Ensure that your tetanus vaccinations are still valid; 10 years after your last shot, you need to renew it for adequate protection.
- Wounds can become infected. If you have wounds, reconsider your participation or cover them with a waterproof bandage.
- If you are ill on the day of the event, participating is inadvisable both for yourself and others.
- Be aware that young children, pregnant individuals, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems are at a higher risk of becoming seriously ill due to infections from swimming in open water.
- Try to swallow as little water as possible.
- Shower/rinse off with drinking water immediately after swimming.
- Report any health complaints that may be related to the swimming water (such as skin issues, gastrointestinal problems) to the organization and/or to GGD Limburg-Noord (Municipal Health Service).
- Report severe or persistent complaints to your general practitioner.
