A good feeling after the race starts with being on time. As an organization, we adhere to a strict schedule, and we ask you to stick to the schedule.
The information on this page applies to all participants of trios for the various races.
Start Number
On the homepage of www.stadstriathlonweert.nl, you will find the link to SQM (active during race days). Here, from Wednesday/Thursday, all participants are listed per start series with the start number. Knowing your start number is useful when picking up your start essentials. Your followers can also follow your progress at various checkpoints on the course via “live”.
Start Envelope
At the registration desk, you will receive a start envelope. In this envelope, you will find the following:
- Start number (pins available if needed during registration);
- Chip+ (chip band if ordered during registration) otherwise bring your own;
- Sticker set.
Medical Information
For safety reasons, we find it important to write any relevant medical information on the back of your start number. For example, the phone number of who to notify and any condition/treatment of that condition. Sports doctors will always check the back of your start number first in case of an emergency.
Swim Cap
The swim caps are sponsored by De Boer Swim. De Boer Swim is a sponsor of the Triathlon Platform Limburg. You may keep the swim caps.
Courses
- All courses can be found on the page “Race Courses”.
Swimming
The gathering area “swim start” is in the transition zone. After opening, enter the water via the underpass footbridge. Only the Quarter Trios start from the other side of the canal.
- First upstream.
- Sprint/trio 1 lap = 750m
- Quarter/trio 1 lap = 1000m
- Half/trio 1 lap = 1900m, see also info half triathlon
Cycling
Always keep to the right lane where applicable. Also when passing another participant. There is oncoming traffic in the left lane.
After starting cycling, you will go through a residential area via a bike path after about 2km. This is necessary to leave the city. You will pass this section 2 or 4 times.
- Sprint/trio 2 laps = 20km
- Quarter/trio 4 laps = 40km
- Half/trio 4 laps = 90km
Running
- Sprint/trio 1 lap running = 5km
- Quarter/trio 2 laps running = 10km
- Half/trio 4 laps running = 20km
Handing Over to the Next Athlete
The swimmer gathers in the designated area at the swim start, with the chip on the ankle. After swimming, they run to the cyclist who is ready at their bike.
The cyclist waits at their bike in the transition zone (see also below). The transition from swimmer to cyclist takes place here. The cyclist already has the start number on, receives the timing chip, and puts it on their left ankle (safest place). They put on their helmet and fasten it, then take their bike and walk to the bike mounting point.
The runner waits at the place where the cyclist has to return their bike.
First, rack the bike and then hand over the timing chip and start number band to the runner.
Finishing together is nice for the photo. Just before the City Bridge, an area will be created where teammates can join the runner. The last 100 meters can be done together. This is not mandatory.
What the Cyclist Should Do
- When registering in the transition zone, you already have your bike and helmet numbered.
- Make sure you already have your helmet on and fastened.
- After the bike check, find your row where your number is located.
- Hang your bike by your number on the rack. Do not hinder your fellow participants.
- The safest place to wear your chip is on your left ankle.
- The swimmer and runner may follow the cyclist in the transition zone to determine where they need to be for the transition.
Penalty Box Station
The penalty box is located at the end of the running course: Onenine running course – all races.
The following penalties can be given:
- Drafting (if your start number is on the board, you take your time penalty before the end of your last running lap).
